Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We offer a complimentary trial lesson for every new student. During the trial, your child joins a real lesson with an actual class cohort, taught by a Zhihua teacher. After the lesson, our Branch Manager will walk you through what was observed, first impressions of your child’s strengths and weaknesses, and answer any questions you have about the programme.

Every Zhihua class has a maximum of 6 students. This is a hard cap — we do not make exceptions. The entire Zhihua system is built around this number. It is what makes the personalised 听写 revision pool, the individual Error Analysis Session, and the tailor-made progress reports possible.
-
There are 52 lessons per year for P4 and P5 students — 13 lessons per term across 4 terms. P6 students attend 38 lessons — 13 lessons in Term 1, 13 in Term 2, and 12 in Term 3, ending before the final PSLE written papers in late September.
-
All lesson materials are provided by ZhiHua — worksheets, answer keys, and teaching slides. These are ZhiHua's proprietary content, purpose-built for our curriculum. Students do not need to purchase any assessment books or external materials.
-
After every lesson, parents photograph their child's completed homework and send it to the class teacher via WhatsApp within 3 days. For example, if the lesson is on Monday, homework must be submitted by Wednesday night. Teachers mark the homework and address errors individually during the next lesson’s Error Analysis Session. Adherence to the homework submission timeline also gives the teacher enough time to update your child's personalised revision pool, so that weaker vocabulary can be re-tested in the next upcoming lesson.
-
Each student has a customised revision pool built from their personal error history. Every time a student answers a vocabulary item incorrectly, that item is added to the pool and flagged for re-testing. On alternating lessons, students are tested on their accumulated weak vocabulary rather than new chapter vocabulary. Items that are consistently answered correctly are retired from the pool. Over time, this means every student is always being tested on what they personally need to revise most.

Progress is tracked through three channels.
After every lesson, parents will receive an WhatsApp update from teachers on their child’s progress and any observations.
Every week, teachers mark homework and record strengths, areas for improvement, learning patterns and weak vocabulary for each student.
Every month, every parent receives a personalised progress report covering component scores, tuition performance, 听写 accuracy scores, skills covered, strengths observed, areas for improvement, and a personal note from the teacher. Each report is written specifically for your child. -
If a student misses a lesson, they are entitled to a makeup lesson within a rolling 3-week window — one week before the missed lesson, the current week, or one week after. Bookings require a minimum of 12 hours advance notice and are limited to 2 makeup lessons per month per student.
